Mount Union sophomore rightside hitter Nicole
Snyder (Mentor) was a Second Team All-American
selection. Her 2.88 kills per set ranked third in the OAC and her
379 digs placed her in 10th on the OAC charts. In addition,
Snyder's .216 hitting percentage ranks 15th in the conference.
Snyder received the OAC Player of the Year award and was named
first team All-OAC after leading the Purple Raiders with 323
kills.
Otterbein sophomore setter Tabatha Piper
(Sunbury) was a Third Team All-American
selection. Piper was at the top of her team with 1,087
assists, an average 9.3 assists per set. Piper also led the
Cardinals with a .341 hitting percentage. Piper had a total of 169
digs, 32 blocks, and 28 service aces during the 2012 season. Piper
was named to the All-OAC
First Team and the AVCA Great Lakes All-Region
Team.
Otterbein senior rightside hitter Kristen Bennett
(Wadsworth) was selected Honorable Mention
All-American. Bennett concluded her season with a .334
hitting percentage, good enough to lead the OAC. She ranked among
the league's top-10 for total kills (303) and kills per set (2.71),
while also tallying 70 blocks. Bennette was also named All-OAC
First Team.
Heidelberg senior middle hitter Marian Bevington
(Celina/Parkway) earned Honorable Mention
All-American recognition. Bevington finished the season at the top
of the Conference with 367 kills and 3.34 kills-per-set. Bevinton
finished the season with a .248 hitting percent. She was named
All-OAC First Team.
Ohio Northern senior outside hitter Ellen Grenert
(Wooster/Triway) was chosen Honorable Mention
All-American. Grenert ranks seventh in the League with
her 2.76 kills per set (293) and fourth with a .305 hitting
percent. Grenert also recorded 81 digs and 39 blocks in 2012 and
was selected All-OAC First Team.
Mount Union senior libero Kristen Gromes
(Navarre/Fairless), an Honorable Mention
All-American pick, ranks second in the OAC with 631 digs,
seventh wiht 5.26 digs per set. She also has a team-best
49 service aces. Gromes garnered OAC Libero of the Year and
All-OAC First Team honors.
