Otterbein's Bennett and Mount Union's Gromes named to Capital One Volleyball Academic All-America Team

Otterbein senior right side hitter Kristen Bennett (Wadsworth)
received first team Capital One Academic All-America honors for the
second straight year. Bennett is a speech communication major with
a 3.96 GPA. Bennett was named AVCA All-America honorable mention
and led Otterbein to the NCAA Tournament. Bennett led the OAC with
a .334 hitting percentage and ranked among the Conference leaders
with 303 kills to earn All-OAC First Team. Otterbein won the first
OAC Championship in program history and finished the season with a
26-8 record.
Mount Union senior libero Kristen Gromes (Navarre/Fairless) was
selected second team Capital One Academic All-America. Gromes is a
mechanical engineering major with a 3.89 GPA. She was named All-OAC
First-team and was honored as OAC Libero of the Year. Gromes
averaged a team best 5.26 digs per set and was named as an AVCA
All-American Honorable Mention.
