Four Named CAPITAL ONE Football Academic All-Americans

 

COMPLETE RELEASE

Four student-athletes have been named 2013 CAPITAL ONE Football Academic All-Americans. Baldwin Wallace seniors linebacker David Flegal (Akron/Revere) and safety Zack Barley (Hudson)have earned first-team honors, while junior safety Joe Kasper (Mentor) has earned second-team recognition. John Carroll junior defensive back Brody Zangaro (Pittsburgh, Pa.) has been selected to the second-team.

To qualify, a student-athlete have a minimum 3.3 grade point average or higher, be a key starter or reserve, play in a minimum of 70 percent of his/ her teams games at the time of nomination and be a first-team CAPITAL ONE Academic All-District selection.

Barley is a Psychology major with a 3.88 GPA.

Flegal is earning a Master's of Accounting with a 3.87 GPA.

Kasper is a Pre-law and Political Science major with a 3.94 GPA.

Zangaro is a Education major with a 3.76.
