Capital, John Carroll and Mount Union head to Trine (Ind.) Regional

 

Capital, John Carroll and Mount Union will play the first round of the NCAA Division III Softball Championship on Thursday, May 9 at Trine (Ind.) University in Angola, Indiana.  

Capital (34-10) claimed the OAC Regular-Season title and will make its fourth appearance in the NCAA Div. III Tournament after earning an at-large bid. The Crusaders earned the #2 seed and will take on #7 Thomas More (Ky.) at 4p.m.

John Carroll (26-11) received an at-large bid and will make its second consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Blue Streaks earned the #3 seed and will open play against #6 Allegheny (Pa.) at 2p.m.

Mount Union (25-11) won the OAC Tournament championship to claim the conference's automatic bid to make its seventh NCAA Tournament appearance, first since 2008. The Purple Raiders earned the #5 seed and will take on #4 Aurora (Ill.) at noon.

This is an eight team, double elimination regional.
