Fourteen Earned All-American Honors at NCAA Div. III Indoor Track & Field Championships

Lincoln, NE- Fourteen have earned All-Ameican honors at the 2014 NCAA Div. III Indoor Track and Field Champsionships host by Nebraska Wesleyan University at Devaney Center in Lincoln, March 14-15. The top eight finisher earn All-American honors.

The Mount Union men tallied 25.5 points to claim fifth place in the team standings. The Pruple Raiders also brought home two national titles.

Junior Sean Donnelly (Willoughby/South) claimed the national title with a record setting mark in the weight throw. Donnelly, now an All-American in three events (2 outdoors, 1 indoors), entered the event as the No. 1 seed and posted a mark of 66-8.75 which was an NCAA Championship meet record, bested his own school record and was the second longest mark in NCAA Division III history.

The 4x400 meter relay team of juniors Tyler Mettille (Canfield/Canfield) and Chase Swisher (Lewis Center/Olentangy Orange) with sophomores Chad Gentry (Louisville/Louisville) and Tyler Sparks (Norwalk/Norwalk) took first place and set a new school record with a time of 3:13.48.
