Men's Track
GREAT LAKES REGION – Kevin Johnson — Baldwin
Wallace
Johnson, a senior from Maple Heights, Ohio, is undefeated against
Division III opponents in 2014 at 100 meters, with titles at the
All-Ohio Championships and the OAC Championships. He is ranked No.
4 at 100 meters and No. 8 at 200 meters. He will compete in both
events at NCAAs, in addition to the 4×100 relay.
Men' Field
GREAT LAKES REGION – Sean Donnelly — Mount
Union
Donnelly, a junior from Willoughby, Ohio, is the nation’s
top-ranked Division III shot putter. He won the event at the OAC
Championships, along with both the discus and the hammer to earn
him Field Athlete of the Meet. He is ranked No. 9 and No. 20
in the latter two events, and will contest all three at
the NCAA Championships.
Women's Field
GREAT LAKES REGION – Melanie Winters —
Baldwin Wallace
Winters, a sophomore from Stow, Ohio, was the DIII All-Ohio
champion in the heptathlon and long jump, and is nationally ranked
in both events, as well as the high jump. She is the nation’s
No. 2 high jumper, the No. 4 long jumper and the No. 7 heptathlete.
She will contest the high jump and the long jump at the NCAA
Championships, as well as the 200 meters and 100-meter hurdles.
Men's Coach of the Year
GREAT LAKES REGION – Kevin Lucas —
Mount Union
Lucas led the Raiders to an OAC Championship and first-place
finish in the All-Ohio DIII meet. The team scored a conference
record 231 points for the league crown. No. 3-nationally ranked
Mount Union has the third-most qualifiers for the NCAA meet with
12. Lucas is in this fourth year as head coach at the school.
Men's Assistant Coach of the Year
GREAT LAKES REGION – Jordan Hill — Baldwin
Wallace
Hill, Baldwin Wallace coach of sprints and hurdles in her second
year, had a group that scored 45 points at the OAC Championships
and 46 points at the All-Ohio DIII meet. The team will have three
entries into the NCAA meet in sprint and hurdle events.
