XX Earned All-American Honors at NCAA Div. III Outdoor Track & Field Championships
Delaware, OH- XX have earned All-Ameican honors
at the 2014 NCAA Div. III Outdoor Track and Field Champsionships
host by Ohio Wesleyan University, May 22-24. The top eight finisher
earn All-American honors.
The Mount Union men won its first national title in school
history. It is the 13th overall national championship for the
Purple Raiders -- who have 11 football championships and the 1974
men's cross country championship.
Mount Union junior Sean Donnelly (Willoughby/South) won the
title in the hammer throw (66.01m) and shot put (17.84m).
The 4x400 meter relay team of seniors Tyler Mettille
(Canfield/Canfield) and Chase Swisher (Lewis
Center/Olentangy Orange) with juniors Chad Gentry
(Louisville/Louisville) and Tyler Sparks
(Norwalk/Norwalk) took first place with a time of
3:09.81.
