Baldwin Wallace Picked to Finish First in OAC Women's Basketball Preseason Poll

WESTERVILLE, Ohio - Baldwin Wallace has been picked to finish first in the Ohio Athletic Conference this season, as voted on by the league women's basketball coaches.

Baldwin Wallace received 81 points and nine first-place votes to take the top spot. Ohio Northern received 69 points, followed closely by Capital with 64 points and one first-place vote. Marietta is projected to finish fourth, receiving 54 points in voting.

Baldwin Wallace is led by Cheri Harrer who enters her 35th season as head women's basketball coach. Last season, Harrer led the Yellow Jackets to an OAC Regular Season Championship and NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 appearance, finishing the season with an overall record of 22-7 and a 16-2 record in the OAC. 

Baldwin Wallace returns 17 letterwinners, three All-Ohio Athletic Conference players, and seven Academic All-OAC selections from last year's squad. Senior All-OAC selections Bella Vaillant, Caely Ressler and Emily Irwin return as the leaders of the pack this season. The 2024-25 season begins Friday, November 8 and Saturday, November 11 for BW as they travel to Washington, Pennsylvania to compete in the Hampton Inn by Hilton Women's Basketball Tipoff. BW opens the tournament against the host Washington & Jefferson (Pa.) College on Friday night at 8 p.m. and closes the weekend against Saint Vincent (Pa.) College at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
