Ten Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes Earn All-American Honors at the NCAA Championships

MYRTLE BEACH, SC - The Ohio Athletic Conference was heavily represented at the 2024 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships this past weekend in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. 

Wilmington's Faith Duncan highlights the OAC has a women's track & field outdoor national champion in the 5,000 Meter Run, finishing in 16:44.12. Duncan is Wilmington's first national champion since 2006 and the first ever to win a distance event. Her 10 points tied the Quakers for 20th overall as a team.

Mount Union's Kenadee Wayt became Mount Union's all-time leader in All-American honors (22) as she raced to four All-American honors throughout the weekend, leading the Purple Raiders to a ninth place finish. Wayt picked up national runner-up in the 200 and 400-Meters with times of 23.99 and 54.18. Wayt placed eighth in the 100 Meter Dash to round out three individual All-America Honors. Wayt then joined Madison Miles, Mary Mason and Elizabeth Funkhouser in the 4x400 Meter Relay, earning All-American honors with a sixth-place finish with a time of 3:46.35.

Hope Murphy from Baldwin Wallace earned her fourth career All-American honor, finishing eighth in the 1500 Meter Run, with a time of 4:35.25.

On the field, Ohio Northern's Claire Schweller and Otterbein's Alexis Weber placed fifth and sixth in Pole Vault with marks of 3.86m. John Carroll's Genevieve Arnold finished 10th in the Long Jump, with a 5.64m jump.

In addition, All-America honors for the 2024 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season were announced on Tuesday by the USTFCCCA. Athletes who finished in the top-8 of their respective individual events and relays at the 2024 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships took home First-Team All-America honors, while those who finished ninth through 16th individually and ninth through 12th as part of a relay team were named Second-Team All-America. From the OAC, 10 women's track & field student-athletes earned All-America honors in one or multiple events.
