33 Men's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes Earn All-American Honors at the NCAA Championships

MYRTLE BEACH, SC - The Ohio Athletic Conference was heavily represented at the 2024 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships this past weekend in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. 

Wilmington's men's track & field team finished in eighth place with 25 points, which is the highest the program has ever finished during the outdoor national meet. Nathen Borgan finished second (63.68m) in the hammer throw, and JJ Durr finished third (62.72m), earning All-American status for the second outdoor season in a row. Brady Vilvens finished fourth in the high jump (2.08m) to be named an All-American for the second straight season. Simon Heys ran a time of 30:47.56 in the 10,000 Meter Run to finish in third place and earn his sixth career All-American honor.

Other top finishers in men's track events include a third place finish in the 4x400 meter relay for John Carroll's Garrett Clark, Dustin Horner, Tyler Gast and Basheer Alramahi (3:10.72). Mount Union's Vinny Zeren, Jared Storm, Tylir Shannon and Tyler Gill finished fourth in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 40.45. John Carroll's Cameron Klauke, Garrett Clark, Dustin Horner and Jimmy Kartsonas finished closely behind in sixth place, running a 40.86. Ohio Northern's Jordan Dean placed sixth in the 400 Meter Dash, crossing the finish line in 47.36 seconds.

Top finishers on the field include a runner-up finish in the Shot Put by Ohio Northern's Keegan Digby, throwing 18.08m and breaking the Ohio Northern school record. Digby is now a five-time All-American in the event and held the previous school record of 17.46 meters. Baldwin Wallace's Christian Pfeiffer earned his second career All-American honor, finishing third in the nation in high jump with a mark of 2.11m. Marietta's Addison Painter finished fourth in the long jump with a 7.36m jump, while Otterbein's Richmond Honkpo finished ninth (7.21m).

In addition, All-America honors for the 2024 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field season were announced on Tuesday by the USTFCCCA. Athletes who finished in the top-8 of their respective individual events and relays at the 2024 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships took home First-Team All-America honors, while those who finished ninth through 16th individually and ninth through 12th as part of a relay team were named Second-Team All-America. From the OAC, 33 men's track & field student-athletes earned All-America honors in one or multiple events.
