Mount Union Picked to Win 2024 OAC Football Title
WESTERVILLE, Ohio - Mount Union, under the direction of fifth-year Head Coach Geoff Dartt, has been picked by the league coaches to win the Ohio Athletic Conference football title in 2024.
Mount Union received eight of 10 first place votes to collect 80 points, followed by John Carroll with 74 points and two first place votes. Marietta is projected to finish third with 63 points, followed by Baldwin Wallace with 59 points and Heidelberg with 47 points. Head coaches do not vote for their own teams in the balloting.
Last season, the Purple Raiders concluded their 32nd undefeated regular season, won a conference-record 34th OAC title and appeared in their 34th NCAA Division III playoff. The Purple Raiders have gone undefeated in the regular season and won the OAC title in each of Dartt’s four years at the helm.
The Purple Raiders, who were picked fifth in the 2024 D3football.com Preseason Poll and second in the Lindy's Sports Magazine, will be competing for their NCAA Division III-record 14th Championship this season.
Mount Union will open its season with a 1:00 p.m. kickoff Saturday, Sept. 7 at Ferrum College in Ferrum, VA.
