(WESTERVILLE, Ohio & INDIANAPOLIS, In.) The Ohio Athletic Conference is pleased to announce that Assistant Commissioner Bryn Mangold will join the NCAA national office in late August as the new Assistant Director of Division III Governance. Mangold brings a dynamic blend of strategic communication expertise, digital media savvy, and a deep-rooted passion for Division III athletics to the role.

In her new position, Mangold will lead Division III messaging and strategic communications, including branding and marketing efforts for the division’s 28 national championships. She also will oversee membership communications, including monthly and bi-weekly updates, and spearhead web development and online strategies. Mangold will manage Division III social media platforms, serve as a liaison to the national Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), coordinate professional development programs, and guide the division’s Special Olympics partnership.

“I’m incredibly honored to join the NCAA and contribute to the continued growth and visibility of Division III,” said Mangold. “As a former Division III student-athlete, I understand the value of the experience and look forward to amplifying the stories and voices that make this division so special.”

Mangold joins the NCAA after three years as Assistant Commissioner of the Ohio Athletic Conference, where she led the conference’s multimedia coverage, developed a comprehensive branding and social media strategy, and served as the conference SAAC advisor. She also played a key role in championship operations, conference programming and external relations.

"We are incredibly proud of Bryn and excited to see her take the next step in her career as an Assistant Director at the NCAA,” said Bethany Dannelly, OAC Commissioner. “Her impact on the OAC over the past three years has been tremendous - elevating our brand, strengthening student-athlete engagement, and advancing key initiatives with creativity and purpose. We know she will bring that same passion and excellence to Division III on the national level."

Prior to her time at the OAC, Mangold worked with the Ohio High School Athletic Association as a Media Relations and Communications Assistant. There, she created engaging digital content for the association’s website and social media channels, and supported state tournament operations, including live coverage, media coordination, and postgame communications.

“Bryn’s wealth of experience with social and digital content, in addition to being a former Division III student-athlete, will transfer well to her role at the national office,” said Louise McCleary, NCAA Vice President of Division III. “She will have an opportunity to continue to grow the Division III branding and social media platforms that highlight the unique student-athlete experiences, as well as oversee professional development programs for our conference and institutional athletics communication staff, provide support to the national SAAC, and contribute to the overall governance structure.”

Mangold also served as an athletics intern at Otterbein University, her alma mater, where she assisted with sports information, game day operations and SAAC initiatives. She earned her bachelor’s degree in public relations and sport management and her Master of Business Administration from Otterbein, where she was a member of the women’s basketball team.
