Mount Union Tops 2025 OAC Football Preseason Poll
WESTERVILLE, Ohio - Mount Union was picked to hoist the 2025 Ohio Athletic Conference football title by the leagues’ head coaches.
The Purple Raiders received eight of the nine first-place votes, earning 64 points to claim the top spot in the preseason poll. Baldwin Wallace followed in second with 55 points, while Marietta was predicted to finish third after receiving the final first-place vote and 49 points. Heidelberg was slated fourth with 41 points, and Ohio Northern rounded out the top five with 40 points. Head coaches do not vote for their own teams in the balloting.
Last season, Mount Union completed its 33rd undefeated regular season, captured a conference-record 35th OAC title, and appeared in its NCAA-record 23rd Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl. Under head coach Geoff Dartt, the Purple Raiders have gone undefeated in the regular season and claimed the OAC championship in each of his five years at the helm.
Mount Union was ranked second in the 2025 D3football.com Preseason Poll, receiving one first-place vote. Baldwin Wallace and Marietta each also received a vote in the national poll. The Purple Raiders will open the season at home against 17th-ranked Wheaton College (Ill.) on Saturday, Sept. 6, at 1:30 p.m.
