Savannah Dennison Mount Union Junior Mentor, Ohio /Mentor Dennison took home first place at the Otterbein Invite with a time of 21:57.21. The Purple Raiders finished second overall. Volleyball Emory Spitler Marietta Senior Lebanon, Ohio / Lebanon Spitler was named to the All-Tournament Team at the Muskingum Invitational, averaging 11.3 assists per set to help the Pioneers to a 3-0 record on the weekend. Spitler posted 22 assists, 2 kills, 1 ace, and 10 digs in the 3-0 win over Washington and Jefferson followed by 56 assists, 1 kill, 1 ace, and 5 digs in the 3-0 win over Case Western and finished the weekend with 35 assists, 1 kills, 1 ace, and 14 digs in a 3-1 win over Mount St. Joseph. Katharine Clayton Muskingum Junior Cincinnati, Ohio / Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy Clayton anchored the Muskie defense, tallying 97 digs across four matches. She also contributed 12 assists and six service aces to round out her all-around performance and help lead the Muskies to a 2-2 record last week, including wins over Mt. St. Joseph and Washington and Jefferson. Soccer Katie Heighberger Marietta Freshman LaGrange, Ohio / Saint Joseph Academy Heighberger led the Pioneers to a pair of wins last week with three points on the week. She scored the game winning goal in a 3-1 win over Bethany and had an assist on the game winning goal in a 2-0 win over Transylvania. Leanne Williams Mount Union Sophomore Poland, Ohio / Poland Seminary Williams helped the Raiders to a 1-0-1 week and two shutouts against Geneva (2-0) and Williams (0-0). Williams has now gone 311 consecutive minutes without giving up a goal. Parker Bolin Marietta Senior Albany, Ohio / Alexander Bolin scored two goals and assisted on another to lead the Pioneers to a 1-1 record last week. On Wednesday, Bolin put Marietta on the board first and then assisted on the go-ahead goal that defeated Mount St. Joseph 3-2, on the road. On Saturday, Bolin's score was the lone Pioneer tally in a 2-1 loss to Franciscan. Landon Daugherty Muskingum Sophomore Canton, Ohio /Perry Daugherty made an impact on both ends of the pitch. In Wednesday's matchup against Pitt-Greensburg, he not only anchored the defense but also scored a goal for the Muskies. He continued his strong performance on Saturday versus Hiram, scoring a goal on just two shots. Football Vante' Hodges Marietta Senior Horn Lake, Miss./ Horn Lake Hodges had a career day rushing the ball in Marietta's 47-31 win over Otterbein. He scored on TD runs of 65 yards, 66 yards, and 64 yards. Hodges finished with 16 carries for 306 yards, 3 TD, and averaged 19.1 yards per carry. Harley Hopkins Marietta Senior Zanesville, Ohio / West Muskingum Hopkins was the leading tackler in Marietta's 47=31 win over Otterbein. He finished with 15 total tackles (5 solo, 10 assisted) and forced 1 fumble. Kai Smith Wilmington Sophomore Cincinnati, Ohio / Shroder Smith returned a kickoff 100 yards for a touchdown early in the second quarter at Baldwin Wallace on Saturday. He finished the game with four returns for 159 yards.
