Marietta College Director of Athletics Larry Hiser has announced his retirement following the conclusion of the academic year, bringing to a close an 18-year tenure leading the Pioneer athletic department.

Since joining Marietta in 2008, Hiser has played a significant role in strengthening the institution’s athletic programs while contributing to the overall growth and visibility of Ohio Athletic Conference and NCAA Division III athletics. Under his leadership, Marietta teams captured 28 Ohio Athletic conference championships and national accolades, including multiple NCAA postseason appearances and 2 national titles.

Hiser oversaw the expansion of Marietta’s athletic offerings, including the addition and reinstatement of varsity programs such as men’s and women’s golf as well as men’s and women’s lacrosse. The Ohio Athletic Conference thanks Larry Hiser for his years of service and leadership and congratulates him on a distinguished career in intercollegiate athletics.
