The Ohio Athletic Conference is proud to recognize Mount Union student-athletes Katie Clark and Giovanni Kennedy, who were honored by the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission as part of its 2025 awards celebration.
Clark was named the Collegiate Athlete of the Year, while Kennedy earned recognition as a Collegiate Athlete of the Year Finalist, highlighting two of the OAC’s premier competitors and leaders.
Katie Clark – Collegiate Athlete of the Year

Clark completed a historic career for Mount Union women’s lacrosse, becoming one of the most decorated student-athletes in program and conference history. She was named a USA Lacrosse Honorable Mention All-American, the first in Mount Union history, and earned Great Lakes First Team All-Region honors. Clark was also named the OAC Offensive Player of the Year for the third consecutive season.
During her final campaign, Clark led the Purple Raiders with 43 goals, 77 assists, and 120 points. She concluded her career as Mount Union’s all-time leader in points (459), assists (233), and goals (226), while also holding the program’s single-season and single-game assists records. Nationally, Clark ranked second in Division III in assists per game (4.0) and was voted First Team All-OAC.
Giovanni Kennedy – Collegiate Athlete of the Year Finalist

An exceptional leader both on and off the field, Kennedy has played a pivotal role in Mount Union football’s continued success. A team captain for the Purple Raiders, he is currently ranked as the No. 1 offensive lineman in NCAA Division III by the National Scouting Combine and was voted a Preseason Division III First-Team All-American.
Kennedy’s impact extends well beyond competition. In 2025, he was nominated for the AFCA All-State Good Works Team in recognition of his volunteer efforts with the National Marrow Donor Program and Walk a Mile in Her Shoes, supporting cancer awareness and advocacy against sexual and domestic violence.
