Three Named AVCA Honorable Mention All-America

LEXINGTON, Ky.-Three have earned All-America Honorable Mention recognition from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA). 

Heidelberg junior Sarah Parker (McCutchenville / Mohawk) honorable mention honors for the second time in her career. Parker was also named first team All-Great Lakes Region and OAC Player of the Year. She wrapped up the season with 463 kills (3.83 kps) and a .329 hitting percent. 

 Parker helped lead the Berg to the OAC Regular-Season and Tournament Championship and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

Ohio Northern junior Ashley Borchers (Russia) and sophomore Megan Nieszala (Lambertville, Mich./St. Marys Catholic Central) have also earned honorable mention honors. Both have been named first team All-OAC and first team All-Great Lakes Region. 

This season, Brochers tallied 1,083 assists,  179 kills, 26 aces, 72 blocks and 216 digs.

Nieszala led the OAC with an average of 5.78 digs per set and was racked up 572 digs this season.

The Polar Bears finished second in the OAC with an 8-1 record.
