The OAC is proud to announce that Josey Johnson, the conference’s National Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) representative, has been selected to serve as Chair of the NCAA Division III National SAAC for the 2026-27 academic year.
Johnson’s selection as Chair represents one of the highest leadership honors for a Division III student-athlete. The National SAAC Executive Board is composed of the Chair, Vice-Chair, two Management Council representatives, two Presidents Council representatives, and a Communications Director, all elected by the committee for one-year renewable terms. Johnson will begin her term immediately, following the conclusion of the NCAA Convention.
As Chair, Johnson will preside over National SAAC meetings and serve as the primary liaison between the committee and NCAA national office staff. She will play a central role in meeting preparation, act as the committee’s spokesperson to the media and external organizations, and represent Division III student-athletes at NCAA meetings, programs, and events. Additionally, Johnson will serve as a communication liaison between National SAAC and the Division III former student-athlete representative on the NCAA Board of Governors Student-Athlete Engagement Committee.
National SAAC members also serve as the student-athlete voice on Division III general committees and select Association-wide committees. Johnson currently represents Division III student-athletes on the NCAA Committee on Competitive Safeguards and Medical Aspects of Sports, further underscoring her commitment to student-athlete well-being and advocacy at the national level.
Johnson’s appointment highlights the strength of student-athlete leadership within the OAC and reflects the conference’s continued presence in Division III governance. The conference congratulates Josey on this outstanding achievement and looks forward to the positive impact she will make during her term as National SAAC Chair.
