Mount Union’s Savannah Dennison Named OAC Women’s Runner of the Year

Mount Union junior Savannah Dennison (Mentor, Ohio / Mentor) has been named the OAC Cross Country Women’s Runner of the Year. Dennison won the Ohio Athletic Conference (OAC) Championship individual title with a time of 22:09.4 to garner First Team All-OAC honors. She went on place 39th Great Lakes Region Championship, covering the course in 23:10.2.

Otterbein’s Payne Ratliff Named OAC Men’s Runner of the Year

Otterbein’s senior Payne Ratliff (Marion, Ohio / Harding) has been selected as the OAC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Year. Ratliff was crowned the OAC individual champion with a time of 25:21.1 and went on to place fourth at the Great Lakes Regional in 25:03. He capped the season off at the NCAA Championship, placing 96th among 279 runners with a time of 25:16.5. Ratliff garnered First Team All-OAC honors.

Capital’s Justin Rona Named OAC Men’s Rookie of the Year

Capital’s Justin Rona (Hilliard, Ohio / Davidson) has been selected as the OAC Men’s Cross Country Rookie of the Year. Rona placed 32nd at the OAC Championship in a time of 26:54.0 to help lead the Comets to a historic best finish and placed 57th at the Great Lakes Regional (26.21.22).

Otterbein’s Kate Thormeier Named OAC Women’s Rookie of the Year

Otterbein’s Kate Thormeier (Bryan, Ohio / Bryan) has been voted the OAC Women’s Cross Country Rookie of the Year. Thormeier earned First Team All-OAC honors with a third-place finish at the OAC Championship with a time of 22:33. She went on to place 61st at the Great Lakes Regional with a time of 23:34.  

Otterbein and Baldwin Wallace Named Men’s Coaching Staffs-of-the-Year

The Otterbein men are led by Matt Sutton, who is assisted by Heather Sandvik, Christopher Pinnick and Johnny LaFortune. The Cardinals won the OAC crown and went on to place fifth among 37 teams at the Great Laked Regional. The Baldwin Wallace men are led by Joe Eby, who is assisted by Julian Johnson-Millan and Josh Fiorentino. The Yellow Jackets placed third at the OAC Championships and fourth at the Great Lakes Regional.

Ohio Northern Named Women’s Coaching Staff-of-the-Year

The Ohio Northern women are led by Jason Maus, who is assisted by Molly Amidon and Tessa (Pitcovich) McVey, The Polar Bears won the OAC crown and went on to the place 8th out of 37 teams at the Great Lakes Regional.
